Surgoinsville branch to open Monday, January 14
First Community Bank of East Tennessee (FCB) is officially bringing banking back to Surgoinsville on Monday, January 14, 2019. Located at 290 Bellamy Avenue, the new FCB branch is the former site of Capital Bank which closed in May after being purchased by First Tennessee.
“We are excited to open the doors to our fully-renovated facility,” said Steve Waller, FCB Hawkins County Regional President. “The branch will open to customers at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, and we invite the community to come see the transformation. You will be amazed.”
“The town of Surgoinsville has been so welcoming,” Waller continued. “Every time I stopped to check on our progress I was greeted by a different resident thanking the bank for opening here.”
Tyler Clinch, FCB CEO and President, echoed Waller’s sentiments. “The feedback we have received throughout this process has been overwhelming. This is a tight-knit, hard-working community, and having a financial institution is vital to not only the residents but the many business owners as well.”
“First Community Bank was founded in Rogersville, and this will make our fifth location in Hawkins County alone,” Clinch stated. “We have more branches in Hawkins County than any other financial institution. Serving this region and growing our community remains a top priority of our senior management and board of directors.”
As with the other FCB locations, the Surgoinsville branch offers a full range of products and services. The staff will be able to assist customers with teller services, deposit accounts, loans, business accounts, business loans, and investment services. The branch also offers safe deposit boxes, a drive-thru teller window, and will soon include a drive-up ATM.
Waller is serving as the acting branch manager of the Surgoinsville location during the first year of operation with Surgoinsville native Marc Borghetti serving as assistant branch manager. The other Surgoinsville team members are Hawkins County residents Angie Burr and Hannah Barrett. Burr and Barrett will assist customers with teller transactions as well as opening new accounts.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration is tentatively scheduled for March 2019.
